Abinaya Mahendiran has more than a decade of experience in managing distributed teams and building end-to-end AI/ML solutions and products. She is a seasoned engineer with the right blend of data science and engineering skills whose expertise is in NLP, NLG, MLOps, Gen AI and LLMOps. She is the CTO of Nunnari Labs, Coimbatore and a part-time Program Manager at IITM for an open source project called, Hidden Voices, that aims to close the gender gap on Wikipedia. She is an avid open source contributor and has published several research papers. She co-leads a hyper-local community called AI Tamil Nadu aimed at democratizing AI and building exclusive AI tools for Tamil. She has been contributing back to the community by mentoring students and young professionals, by writing technical articles and organizing events and sharing her knowledge through technical talks.
