Survival of Remote Agile Coaches

Abstract:

While the theme is the survival of remote Agile teams, spare a thought for the Coaches who are working remotely – there are pressures on delivery, but much of the enabling and team coaching that happened with the teams is now absent. When coaches spend most of their coaching time restricted to meeting windows rather than spread over the day, how can coaches be effective? The simple fact is, that many of them aren’t – leading clients to demand ‘technicians’ who help set up the Agile process, rather than senior Agile coaches who focus on effectiveness. How are coaches to thrive and perform with teams in this environment? Here are some pointers based on what is working in F-500 transformations.

Key Takeaways

  1. Being effective remotely
  2. The definition of success today for coaching
  3. Agile Coaching in a remote environment
  4. The definition of success for projects is unchanged
  5. Management expectations from Coaches now.
