In today’s programmatic software development environment, delivering valuable features requires seamless cross-team collaboration. This discussion explores the challenges and best practices we’ve adopted to ensure successful user story delivery across all capabilities, with Quality being a central focus.
Key challenges include communication gaps, conflicting priorities, and knowledge silos. To address these, we implemented practical strategies that enabled the delivery of one of the most complex cross-app integrations. This process involved creating a new micro frontend, integrating it with a completely new microservice, and embedding it into another application with an enhanced workflow. Throughout, maintaining high Quality standards remained paramount, addressing the challenges we face today.
To maintain quality throughout the process, we adopted the following approach:
PRD Review: Once the Product team shared the PRD, detailed reviews were conducted by both DS and tech teams, with feedback incorporated into the final document.
Epic and User Story Review: A comprehensive review process by DS and tech leads ensured all requirements were clear and actionable.
Framework Integration: Leveraging the CRISP-DM framework, we identified and incorporated enabler stories as part of the DS stages during user story creation.
Implementation and Sign-Off: Each user story underwent a thorough review process before final implementation, with sign-off from the Product team ensuring quality at every stage.
Quality Standard: A dedicated Jira tool was used to ensure all quality processes were adhered to throughout the workflow.
